Weddings

We welcome enquiries from couples interested in a Christian marriage service even if you are not currently regular members of a Christian congregation.

However, we do ask all couples preparing for marriage in our parish to participate in some pre-marriage preparation which we provide. This gives us the chance to get to know you and gives you some valuable skills which will be helpful in building a successful marriage. For this reason we don’t just ‘hire out’ the churches for weddings. We are often happy to have your own minister involved in the service but we ask that our own clergy conduct the service.

For those interested in marriage in our parish we suggest you contact one of our parish secretaries and check that the day and time you are hoping to be married is available. Please note that we do not allow Sunday weddings. The secretary will then take your details and invite you and your fiancé to attend a Sunday Service (All Saints’, 9.30am & 6 pm; St. Mark’s 8am) which gives you the chance to see the church and meet the minister and some of the congregation. After the service the minister will give you a wedding package which contains details of our pre-marriage preparation and also has information about fees, forms etc. Included in this package is a pink booking form which we ask you to fill out and return. As soon as we receive this we put your wedding in the diary as a confirmed booking.

The wedding package fee is $1,800 and includes:

1. Pre-marriage preparation weekend course, including a gourmet lunch
2. Use of the church
3. Flowers
4. Organist
5. Pastoral fees
6. Administration costs and overheads

Hire of the church grounds, hall, kitchens etc is not included in the wedding package but may be arranged separately.
